Sound tripping in Berlin

Okay, two days away before Flotrinkian is reunited again!!! It's getting quite boring here in Berlin without the other team member. And we've only been apart two weeks! But I can enjoy Berlin for the both of us. So, during my last weekend in Treptow, I decided to spend quality time with myself. And where did I go? To the mall! And not to go shopping but for Sound tripping!!!

Busy Berlin is swarming these weeks with tourists and film enthusiasts attending the Berlinale. And Potsdamer Platz is glitzy and glamorous, everyone decked up in their winter outfits, (when I've been shedding one layer less now!) looking to be seen and heard and noticed. So I spent an anonymous last two days, going through the flyers and brochures, reading the write ups and watching the people go by. Back in Manila, when I was in a rut or confused or deadbrained about a current project, a busy area, like Quiapo and the more accessible mall have always provided some solace to my frenzied brain. So today, I surrounded myself by swarms of people going in and out of cinemas, discussing what the hell they just watched. I positioned myself on the stairs of Cinemaxx sipping the giveaway bubbly flavored water and just sat there. And read. And scribbled. The buzzing was quite comforting as it was like being back in Manila for a while.

And then now, back to Berlin.

I ran to Kaisers to get Almdudler-- the customary Reunification drink recommended by Team Lässig and took the train back to the Treptow Apartment.

Now my feet are up and I'm twiddling my toes and brainstorming the next Flotrinkian project while listening to the buzzing von Radio Eins.

ASIAN HOTSHOTS BERLIN WEEK (Jan 16 bis 22)

The Asian Hotshots Berlin is the film festival on young Asian cinema, paying special attention to southeast Asian Cinema (that's us!!!). And yes, I have stupid pictures and Flotrinkian was too exhausted most of the time to do other things other than work. But it was a blast and we met a lot of cool people. But too bad, we don't even have pictures of all those awesome people we met. But these pictures should do for now...
